AND THE MANNA STILL FALLS..
As mentioned in earlier blogpost : Episode 30, this really nice neighbour across the street has been giving us bread in generous portions. At one point, I was getting rather embarassed at her generosity. It seems her hubby buys these breads. I told her she needn't have to do this, but she says he just wants to bless.
But maybe God is also using this to teach me the principle of receiving. To know that when I ask, 'Give us this day our daily bread..." he actually will provide - the big and the small.
The bible teaches that it is more blessed to give than to receive. When we give, it takes an effort on our part, but did you realise that for some, it takes quite an effort to receive too? I realised I had this problem because of pride. Whenever people gave me something or passed a compliment, I always wanted to give them back something in return so that I wouldn't be 'owing' anything. Now, I've come to realise it is all part and parcel of learning to trust in God, and see that He provides little as well as big favours and blessings through people around me.
Also, if no takers, then no givers and then you stem the flow of reap and sow right? haha...
So..thanks friends and to God for taking such good care of us.

CLASS PROJECT: PRODUCT PACKAGING
Ya rite, class project, and who does the work, mummy of course!
Spent whole morning trying to make something out of recycled tissue pack to help him construct something that looked like a toy packaging.....Jordie is supposed to present his own product packaging and talk about its design. And he wanted an assembly toy box that could look funky..
I said, " Can we just do a cereal box or cookie box- something simpler... Don't want so complicated packaging for 'click & stick" la ?? "
"No, it isn't about doing something easier, it's about doing something better..." he insisted.
Sigh! Why did I teach him all these wise principles for and now I got no shortcut,...
POOL, PIZZA & PARENTING
Went to Ingrid's place, we finally met up after many weeks, at her place, which is really quite cosy with nice pool and jacuzzi under body corporate. She and her daughter were really a cute pair. Jordie got along very well with her daughter and even found his own classmate was her neighbour, so they had a blast in the pool, the kids. I just sat at the deck chair chatting with Ingrid. She baked a nice apple strudel cake for tea but we went out first for pizza lunch.
Nice to just hang out with another mum, even though different background, but we enjoyed the morning together. She was so comfortable with me she didn't even worry about serving her burnt cake in torn pieces and I didn't mind! South Americans according to her are very big on food, now that's pretty similar to Malaysians. Relating heart was what I appreciated about her. She was 50 but still 30 at heart, she enjoyed being pretty, sexy and yet very motherly. Probably quite lonely too and admitted she needed friends. We talked about life in Australia, getting jobs, love, marriage, parenting and social concerns but it was getting late, had to go, Aww shucks went Jordan.
I told her the next time to come over for chinese dinner at my place.

KING PONG
A DEAD whale dubbed 'King Pong' has been left to rot on an island beach north of the Gold Coast.
Moreton Island locals say the stench from the decomposing behemoth is unbearable.
It washed ashore on Saturday near White Rock, about 15km from the island's southern tip on Ocean Beach.
On Sunday, the whale became a tourist attraction, with children clambering over it.
National Parks and Wildlife officers cut a tennis ball sized chunk from the creature to analyse and hopefully determine a cause of death.
Local painter Jeff Land drove past the whale yesterday and said it had taken 10 minutes before the 'unbelievable' stench of rotting whale disappeared from his vehicle.

EPISODE 33: TURNING 8
EIGHT... marks a new beginning, and for Jordan, celebrating his 8th birthday was truly a happy occasion because he got his new bike, friends who came for his party, 2 different birthday cakes including getting to try mooncakes,... and rowing, one of his favourite activities...
Yesterday, we celebrated his birthday one day earlier since Sundays we were usually out at church. His dad baked a nice chocolate cake and we hung streamers + balloons in the house. Unfortunately those lousy 'turning 8' birthday balloons I got for him at TESCO KL kept bursting and his birthday candles also broke, luckily some standby's were available...
The 1st buddy who turned up early waited patiently,..and then impatiently for the rest to arrive b4 we could start the games.
We started it off with charades and they got really excited at the superheroes category to the point of arguing who was the winner... these competitive boys..!! They then played the strawberries games and then the cherry tomato race outside our home...
This year, we didn't prepare much food, learnt from last year, food is last on priority of children's party. They want lots of games, fun and maybe timtams and chips... forget the sandwiches, fancy pasta or whatever.. it's F.U.N. they want....
Today is his actual birthday and we happened to be at lunch with friends after church. Auntie Karen surprised him with a chocolate cake.
He went rowing with Uncle Peter and had a great time with the doggies... and jelly volcano playdoh... so.... it was a funday Sunday and plus no need to practice piano for the weekend, what a nice break!! Tomorrow, back to school .... again. End of the holidays!!
