EIGHT... marks a new beginning, and for Jordan, celebrating his 8th birthday was truly a happy occasion because he got his new bike, friends who came for his party, 2 different birthday cakes including getting to try mooncakes,... and rowing, one of his favourite activities...
Yesterday, we celebrated his birthday one day earlier since Sundays we were usually out at church. His dad baked a nice chocolate cake and we hung streamers + balloons in the house. Unfortunately those lousy 'turning 8' birthday balloons I got for him at TESCO KL kept bursting and his birthday candles also broke, luckily some standby's were available...
The 1st buddy who turned up early waited patiently,..and then impatiently for the rest to arrive b4 we could start the games.
We started it off with charades and they got really excited at the superheroes category to the point of arguing who was the winner... these competitive boys..!! They then played the strawberries games and then the cherry tomato race outside our home...
This year, we didn't prepare much food, learnt from last year, food is last on priority of children's party. They want lots of games, fun and maybe timtams and chips... forget the sandwiches, fancy pasta or whatever.. it's F.U.N. they want....
Today is his actual birthday and we happened to be at lunch with friends after church. Auntie Karen surprised him with a chocolate cake.
He went rowing with Uncle Peter and had a great time with the doggies... and jelly volcano playdoh... so.... it was a funday Sunday and plus no need to practice piano for the weekend, what a nice break!! Tomorrow, back to school .... again. End of the holidays!!
